Praise and Thanksgiving

2 Corinthians 4:16–18 — So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Father, please make us imitators of Paul as he was an imitator of Christ. Help us, like them to make the most of every opportunity we have to serve you here, to keep our eyes fixed on the glory that awaits and to rejoice in any afflictions we may be called upon to endure here for Christ, knowing that they are light and momentary, and that He endured far more in saving us from our sin!

Hear us now as we ask for you to raise up more and more faithful witnesses to Christ who will surrender to His lordship and serve him wholeheartedly wherever the true Gospel is preached!

Global Topics

We want to pray for Iran again this week as tensions escalate in that area and additional troops are sent there from this country. Make the witness of your children even more powerful and effective in these times of growing uncertainty and fear, and grow your church in spite of all the attempts of the Enemy to extinguish its fire.

National Topics

We give thanks for the peace we enjoy as a nation, and the freedom that it brings to proclaim the Gospel. This Memorial Day weekend, we especially give thanks for those who laid down their lives and for the families who sacrificed loved ones so we may enjoy this privilege. Above all, we give praise for Christ, who laid down His life in the greatest conflict to bring peace and reconciliation with God through faith in His Name.

Local Topics

Crosspointe Church, pastor Tim Terpstra. For spiritual fruit from God-given opportunities to share the gospel, including with those who visit the church.

Fellowship Topics

Thank you for those who labor so hard to bring the Gospel to our children. Bless their efforts with fruit by bringing many children to yourself and revealing yourself more and more to those who already know you. Especially bless the training session this afternoon, so that we will have greater skills to do this work for your glory. Bless us through your Word, by your Spirit as Chris preaches now.
