Praise and Thanksgiving

Psalm 113:1–9 — Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD! 2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised! 4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens! 5 Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, 6 who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? 7 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, 8 to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. 9 He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!

Praise the Lord indeed for all his benefits to His children. You have raised us up from the ash heap – the place of conviction, guilt and repentance, and made us to be princes in your kingdom! You have made us into a people able to bear fruit for your glory. Praise the Lord!

The Gospel is your power to work this gracious and amazing transformation in all who believe, and you are a generous God, taking no delight in the death of the wicked but that they turn and live – so hear and answer our prayers for the glory of your name this morning!

We continue to pray for your blessing, Father, as the tractor is delivered this weekend to the Rancho 3M orphanage in Guadalupe. May it enable more rapid development of that ministry for the glory of your Name!

National Topics

As many forces are at work to dismantle and devalue families in this land, please send your Spirit to turn this situation around. Save many, Lord, and may there be a rebuilding of the moral fabric of our society for your glory.

Please bless the work at Black Mountain Baptist Church, led by pastor Eric Stephens and make it fruitful.

Fellowship Topics

We praise you again, Lord, that from the beginning you have ordained families to be a foundational aspect of our society. Thank you for the opportunity today both to pray for your blessing on the fathers among us, that they may remain steadfast and unmoveable in faith and may model your fatherhood in their relationships with their children. In addition, we pray for all the families with children in the congregation. Give grace to parents to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and may your Word by Your Spirit awaken them all to new life. We pray as well that as the family of God here at grace, we may play our role in supporting and encouraging the parents in their work and in seeking the salvation of their children. As always, we pray you will make your Word active and powerful among us this morning and refine us by your Spirit’s work as it is preached.
