Praise and Thanksgiving

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Thank you God that you have given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of you and your salvation. As we see you for who you are – holy and happy, tender and tough, loving and just – we stand in appropriate fear and awe and reverence. You are the God over all! Your glory extends over all the earth. Your resurrection power is causing dead souls to come alive through the proclamation of the gospel! We praise you this morning that you are alive and at work across the world to bring glory to your name!

Global Topics

We pray this morning for the war-torn country of Syria. God, would you extend your hand into this country? Would you rescue souls from the jaws of hell? Would you give your church boldness to share the good news of Jesus and to love their neighbors with the love of Christ? We ask you to relieve suffering and bring about peace.

National Topics

We ask for your favor this week to our Supreme Court as it hears cases and interprets the law for this nation. We pray specifically for a case before them that deals with the redefinition of sex and gender. God would you give the justices wisdom that leads to an outcome that glorifies you? Would you cause many in our nation to turn to you in fear and awe and to use our freedom to walk in obedience to your ways?

Local Topics

God we praise you that other churches around this city and state have been given the gospel and are seeking to glorify you. We lift up Cornerstone Church to you. We pray for Doug Troyer and the other pastors that you would give them much skill and insight into your word as they study the book of Revelation. Would you help families who attend there to grow and mature in Christ? Thank you that we have friends in the gospel across the city.

Fellowship Topics

And for our church, Lord, we give you praise for your mercy to us. We are loved far greater than we deserve. Thank you for our fellowship together in the Lord Jesus and for His cross as our commonality. Deepen our worship in you through our Student classes on Sunday morning, in our corporate discipleship as a church, in our programs and in our times of prayer.

We lift up the needy in the body, we ask for healing to the sick and ailing. We pray for you to heal Nicole Buxton and the tumors that have been found. Give her rest in you God. We pray for a speedy recovery for Nicole Shamon after the birth of Hope Nicolas. We thank you for the precious gift of children. And we pray for grace to be united in spirit and the humility to walk in repentance.

Speak now through Pastor Jamie as your Word is opened and taught – we need to see the glory of Jesus again today. Amen.
