Praise and Thanksgiving

Psalm 34:8 – Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

God we bless you for who you are – the One True and Living God, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. We praise you for what you’ve done – bearing the wrath for our sins and taking our curse on yourself! We are freed from our slavery to sin because of you and we have hope again for the future because you are faithful to all your promises!

Global Topics

So we pray for that hope to flood across our world. Globally, we pray that gospel will break into uncharted lands into unreached people groups. We pray that you raise up courageous men and women to go and take the gospel where it hasn’t been preached. Let the nations be glad in the everlasting joy of Christ!

National Topics

We pray that would begin here at home. God, we ask that you would rend the heavens and come down in a powerful way in America – to put the saving work of Jesus on full display through the efforts of your church. As we approach the Easter season, give us hearts to see the need around us and give us zeal for good works that glorify the gospel

Local Topics

We pray for Pastor Dick Fellers and Immanuel Church in Scottsdale. Thank you for the steadfast labors of a longtime pastor. We pray that you would reach the older, wealthy, comfortable people in Scottsdale with the gospel that is more valuable, more lasting, and more necessary than all their gold or silver. Give Immanuel Church favor in their efforts to love those who don’t know Christ.

Fellowship Topics

And for us, we pray this morning that we will experience you anew. That our present experience of your refuge will cause our hearts to soar with joy and cry out with the psalmist, “Taste and see that the Lord is good!”

We pray that for Nicole Buxton, who is having surgery this week to remove tumors. Lord, give her the gift of your presence. Be her refuge. And we pray for full and complete healing.

We praise you that our sister Arlyne received the news this week that she is cancer free. Thank you God! Let every answer to prayer lift our hearts with joy and cause us to see that you are good – good when you heal, good when you don’t. Good because that’s just who you are. How freeing it is to come to you in prayer knowing that you love us because of how YOU are, not because of who we are!
