Praise and Thanksgiving

Psalm 91:1–2 — He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

In these times of turmoil, uncertainty and sacrifice, we find confidence and strength in You and we share the words of the Kings of old saying “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you, Lord.” In the midst of extreme difficulty we believe into You. We believe that you are Lord over all and that we are free to trust You today, tomorrow and in the times to come.

Global Topics

We continue to pray for our brothers and sisters abroad; The Krauses and Serenissima Ministries, our friends in Gillingham, the pastors ministering in places like China, South Korea and across the globe. We ask Lord that they would glorify You. That they would trust You with their fears and encourage others to do the same. That they would lead others to call out to You, knowing that though they are helpless, their hope is fixed on You and You alone. Give them rest as they trust in You, the One who battles on our behalf. Give them rest as they eagerly anticipate Your salvation.

National Topics

In our own country, we ask that You give our political leaders wisdom and grace as they are confronted with very difficult decisions. We ask that you would provide clarity, direction and the will to do the right thing. Have your hand on our healthcare workers – give them knowledge and courage as they labor to combat sickness and fear. Have Your hand on us as a nation. Turn us away from pride and self-reliance that results in fear and no good thing. Turn us to humility that results in wisdom from above. Turn us to the cross. Pour out your spirit in revival power so that more people are found by Christ in these days than become sick or lose their jobs. Refine your church and equip her to meet the challenge and the opportunity presented by these days. Give your church a loud voice of resilient hope in the midst of shared tragedy.

Local Topics

We ask your favor on all the churches in Arizona that are meeting online this morning. Unite us in the gladness of the gospel as we wrestle with the grief and uncertainty of these times. Equip your people to see these trials as an opportunity to glorify You. Empower us to remain steadfast, knowing that when we have stood the test, we will receive the crown of life that You have promised.

Fellowship Topics

We pray that your gospel will go forward in powerful ways in our body. Give us love for one another. Cause us to disadvantage ourselves to the advantage of others. Make us generous, creative and willing as we seek to care for each other. Strengthen our families as they take advantage of more time together. Encourage them in Your Word. As we intentionally distance ourselves from each other, protect those prone to destructive isolation. Surprise us with Your power and Your love as we seek refuge in You, our God, in whom we trust.

Amen
