Grace Church AZ Prayer for Sunday, May 24, 2020

We are coming together this morning with confidence that the way to draw near to God is not through a building, but through our great high priest and that access has never been closed for those who are in Christ.

Hebrews 10:19–23 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Father hear our prayers for the sake of your church and your glory across the globe. Open up people’s eyes to the ONE WAY that our consciences can be sprinkled clean from the sin in our hearts and that’s through our Great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ who is over the house of God. Let the nations turn their eyes to you as their rescuer and redeemer.

We ask that you give the church in every place wisdom in how to lead in these tumultuous times. Most of all, draw us near to you, God, with a sincere faith, so that the church is led into love and service. Protect your church from tribalism and division, rally us around the gospel, give us grace for the differences of opinion that exist within the church and make our unity around Jesus be like a beacon of light into the darkness of the world.

As churches in Phoenix make plans for when to regather, give us a spirit of solidarity and support, especially when we have different leanings. Keep the members of each gospel preaching church rooted and engaged and we pray God that you would spread the fame of Christ out of these churches.

For our congregation at Grace, humble us at the power of your name and let us stand in the fear of God. Give us holy reverence for you God, increase our pursuit of you, and give us your presence in full measure through the Spirit. We continue to pray for healing to Nicole Buxton, we ask for you to heal Beth Willis’ son Zemar from his Covid-symptoms, and protect Beth Zane and Jean. Thank you God that you are good, gracious, glorious, and great.

We worship you now in Jesus name, amen.
