Grace Church AZ Prayer for Sunday, August 09, 2020

Praise and Thanksgiving

1 Timothy 2:5–6 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

God, all of the hope of the world rests on you. Apart from Christ, we are all lost in our sins, stumbling in the darkness and headed to judgment. We praise you with all of our hearts that Christ has come to seek that which is lost, to pierce the darkness with the brilliance of his light and to save us from the judgement our sins deserve. That’s what you are doing in the gospel!

Global Topics

So we pray for your glory to spread far and wide into the nations. Lord we ache at the pain that the people of Beirut are experiencing this week. We pray for salvation to come to this place, that Christians would speak about the hope of glory and that you would send relief to comfort the grieving. Turn this darkness into light.

National Topics

We pray for Jayme Miller as she continues to prepare to take your word and embody it among the nations who need to hear of you. Please continue to guide and direct Radius International and their program of training for this next year and continue to give Jayme peace and faith in the calling you’ve laid on her life.

Local Topics

We pray for your church in Arizona – some who are meeting in person, some that are still only online. God we pray that you give the pastors and elders of these churches incredible wisdom to lead their congregations at this time, just as we pray you would do the same for us here at Grace. Help each of us know how we can most faithfully live out our call as disciples in this time and place. We pray specifically for Crosspointe Church, pastors Robbie Glazner and Tim Terpstra. We pray for their evangelistic impact as they connect with people who need Christ. Give them favor Lord – give them wildly successful ministry in the name of Jesus.

Fellowship Topics

And Father, as we think about our congregation, we pray for you to unify us around the gospel. Cause us to put away division and disruption from what you’ve assigned us to do as your servants. We repent for where we’ve lost sight of you in the last few months. Come now and give us the gift of your Spirit and refresh us with your Word and invigorate us to obedience so that the world will see the glory of the gospel in the peace of the church!
