Praise and Thanksgiving

Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised! The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens! Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!
Psalm 113:3–9

God, we bless your name this morning here at Grace Church. There is no one like you. There is nothing on this earth that can satisfy us. You are seated on high and look down over us and provide so abundantly for our needs. Thank you Lord! We are all, each one of us, utterly lost in our sin. But you have set us free by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. You have addressed our ultimate need, salvation from our sins. And now you call us sons and daughters. Praise the Lord!

Global Topics

We pray for for the Middle East today. Praise you for the recent peace agreement between the UAE and Israel. Oh Lord bring more peace and cooperation to the region and open new doors for your gospel. And we pray for Beirut again this week. Awaken the faith of the Christians in Lebanon through the trials there. Show them the sufficiency of Christ crucified in the midst of their pain and misery. Raise their voices above the protests and unrest to declare the peace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

National Topics

Lord we also pray for the protests and unrest in our own country. There is so much division and rancor amidst the various contingents wrapped up in the current struggle. Give your church, nationwide, hearts for the peace and reconciliation that only your Gospel can bring. Help us to point people toward their need for a Savior first… a Savior that can reconcile us all to God and to each other. Help us to live in a spirit of reconciliation with one another, in spite of all the differences we may have, that shines in the darkness of our age. Help us as Christians here in American to keep the main One the main thing… Jesus Christ crucified for our sins and his free gift of grace.

Lord, please help those sick and ailing in our congregation. We lift up Denae Jones who is sick with pneumonia, possibly COVID, give her comfort and healing. Heal Lisa Keppel and watch over the Keppel's as a family, give the doctors wisdom and make her medications effective. We continue to pray for Nicole Buxton and Zaiden. Be with her upcoming surgeries and help Zaiden to get to feeling better. Lord, give Robert Smith continued healing and recovery from his surgery. Thank you for his operation going well. Give us all here at Grace hearts to pray for each other and reach out to one another and stay connected during these times of social distance.
Thank you Lord God for our pastors and their families… the Daukus', the Selfs, the Moorheads, and the Hodsons. Lift all of them up to you. Watch over them. Protect their families from the evil one. We praise you Lord for their faithfulness to your Word and for shepherding us. Strengthen them and uphold them during these times.
