LEADERSHIP AT GRACE CHURCH

Elders

Chris Daukas

Chris grew up with a loving family and in a moral home, but despite his upbringing, he was a sinner in need of grace. In his sophomore year of college, Chris yielded his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He began to devour the Word and was soon helping to lead bible studies, outreaches, and worship at church. He married his beautiful wife, Tara, in the summer of 2000.

They were founding members of East Valley Bible Church Tempe (now Grace Bible Church in Tempe, AZ). The following year, Chris joined the staff as Worship Leader and had a growing desire to pursue pastoral ministry.

Chris and Tara relocated in 2003-2004 for training at Pastors’ College and they returned to serve at a fellowship in Gilbert. While ministering there, God further strengthened a desire in Chris’ heart to see another church planted. After years of conversations and prayers, the planting team of Grace Church began to form.

Chris, Tara, and their beautiful children relocated in May of 2009 to the northwest side of Phoenix in Peoria, AZ. In August 2009, Grace Church had its public launch. Chris serves as the Lead Elder for Grace Church and is passionate to see God transform lives through His glorious gospel. He and Tara have four children – Taylor, Trevor, Rylee, and Alexie.

Greg Hodson

Greg came to know the Lord in 1978 in the UK. In the same year, he met Pam, who became his wife in 1981.   They have been blessed with 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Greg served as a deacon in a baptist church in Reading for several years before being sent in 1993 to help a small, struggling fellowship in a nearby village, where he became one of the teaching elders.

The family moved to Modesto, California in 1997, where Greg functioned as a teaching elder at a small fellowship for some 20 years. He was frequently involved in the teaching ministry and also led the Internet and Youth Ministries.

In 2016, the Lord unmistakably created the desire and the opportunity for Greg and Pam to move to Peoria, where they have been excited to share the vision of Grace Church and to commit themselves to serve the Lord in the fellowship.

Jon Moorhead

Jon was born and raised in Idaho where he grew to love the outdoors and where he first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Although God demonstrated His power and grace to Jon many times in those early years, it wasn’t until he was 22 and experienced true brokenness, that he responded to God’s calling to follow Him.

After spending some time as a medic in the Army, Jon moved to Arizona to go to college. There he met Stacie, and in 1997 they were married. Jon and Stacie are blessed with four children whose ages span 13 years from oldest to youngest: Abby, Sarah, Tanner and Jacob.

Since becoming a follower of Jesus, Jon has served in campus evangelistic ministry, led Bible studies, been a small group leader, taught in children’s ministry and served as Director of student ministries among other things. The Lord brought Jon, Stacie and their family to Grace Church in 2010, during its first year as a church. Jon works full time in the Information Technology field and still loves getting out in God’s creation.

Jamie Self

Jamie has served in full-time ministry since 1999. He loves serving Christ, discipling men and eating smoked beast. He is proud to be married to his beautiful, godly wife Andrea and enjoys spending time with his two adult children, Makenzie and JJ.

Deacons

Jeff McFadden

Jeff grew up in Scottsdale and Tempe where he was blessed to be a part of several gospel-preaching churches as a child. Saved at about age 12, he has been serving in various church tech and communication roles for about 15 years now.

Jeff was a part of Sovereign Grace Church in Gilbert from 2004 until 2009 when he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Peoria as a part of the church plant team for Grace Church. In 2014 he began serving as Deacon of Technology and Communication Strategy.

Jeff and Ruth have 3 children: Luke, Joel, and Claire.

Ryan Coulter

Ryan was born and raised here in the greater northwest Phoenix area. He grew up in a Christian home and gave his life to Christ at a very young age. Ryan has been a member at Grace since 2010. Ryan married his wife Deanna in 1996 and they have four children: Courtney, Tyler, Ashlynn, and Brooklynn.

Ryan has served in the business administration and finance areas of ministry since 2002. He became a deacon at Grace in 2016, but has served the body since 2011 in the area of finance.

Admin Assistant to the Pastors

Pam Hodson

Pam was born and raised in Wales, UK. She was converted at age 14. After college, she taught math to grades 6-12 for several years.  She served in fellowships in England and Wales in both women’s and Sunday school ministries. In 1997, she moved to California with her husband, Greg, and their 3 children, where she continued serving in the local church. In 2017, Greg and Pam moved to Arizona to be nearer their grandchildren. She is excited about the new opportunities that the Lord has opened for her in Grace Church.
