Elders

Chris Daukas

Chris grew up with a loving family and in a moral home, but despite his upbringing, he was a sinner in need of grace. In his sophomore year of college, Chris yielded his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He began to devour the Word and was soon helping to lead bible studies, outreaches, and worship at church. He married his beautiful wife, Tara, in the summer of 2000.

They were founding members of East Valley Bible Church Tempe (now Grace Bible Church in Tempe, AZ). The following year, Chris joined the staff as Worship Leader and was growing with a desire to pursue pastoral ministry. It was through a growing friendship with Sovereign Grace Church in Gilbert that God presented the opportunity.

Chris and Tara relocated in 2003-2004 for training at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College and they returned to serve at Sovereign Grace Church in Gilbert. While ministering there, God further strengthened a desire in Chris’ heart to see another church planted. After years of conversations and prayers with the pastors of Sovereign Grace Church, the planting team of Grace Church began to form.

Chris, Tara, and their beautiful children relocated in May of 2009 to the northwest side of Phoenix in Peoria, AZ. In August 2009, Grace Church had its public launch. Chris serves as the Lead Elder for Grace Church and is passionate to see God transform lives through His glorious gospel. He and Tara have four children – Taylor, Trevor, Rylee, and Alexie.

Todd Spencer

Todd was raised in California and Florida, where he was blessed to participate with his family in churches that preached the Gospel – that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith” (Romans 3:23-25 ESV) – a message that brought him to salvation.

While at Wheaton College, he met his future wife, Erin, and they began to attend church together, eventually becoming members of a Sovereign Grace Church, where they were delighted to find a robust emphasis on the sovereignty of God, a vibrant practice of the spiritual gifts, and gospel-centered community.

Todd and Erin married in 2002 and moved to Arizona to join Sovereign Grace Church, Gilbert, where they enjoyed seven years of fruitful relationships and ministry. Upon hearing plans for Chris Daukas and his family to plant Grace Church, they eagerly joined the team to make disciples for Christ. In addition to reaching out to friends and neighbors, they have ample disciple-making opportunities as they train their children (Caden, Zoe, Jackson, and Macy) to be lovers of God and others.

Jeff McFadden

Jeff grew up in Scottsdale and Tempe where he was blessed to be a part of several gospel-preaching churches as a child. Saved at about age 12, he has been serving in various church tech and communication roles for about 15 years now.

Jeff was a part of Sovereign Grace Church in Gilbert from 2004 until 2009 when he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Peoria as a part of the church plant team for Grace Church. In 2014 he began serving as Deacon of Technology and Communication Strategy.

Jeff and Ruth have 3 children: Luke, Joel, and Claire.
