Weekly Reflection
“The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath”
Jesus reveals that the Sabbath exists to give life in God’s presence, and that His kingdom is marked by radical mercy flowing from true righteousness.
Reflection
The Sabbath reveals God’s desire for His people to live in rest within His presence. Jesus shows that this rest expresses itself through mercy that restores the broken and lifts the burdened. Life with God takes visible shape through compassion that reflects His character. The question of the Sabbath becomes a question of whether we trust Jesus to define life, rest, and righteousness.
